Cream Cheese Pound Cake

Many times Vicki & Sarah will pick this one as their birthday cake.  It is delicious. Ice with cream cheese icing.

  • 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 3 sticks butter
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • Instructions

     

    1. Cream butter and cream cheese.
    2. Add sugar and eggs, beating well after each addition.
    3. Add vanilla, flour, and baking powder.
    4. Bake in greased and floured 10-inch tube pan at 325 degrees for 1 1/2 hours. Test for doneness.
    5. Sour cream can be substituted for the cream cheese if desired.
    6. Frost with Cream Cheese Icing.
